Dress Code

Graduands and Guests are required to dress formally according to the following dress code:
Graduand Guest
  1. Men - Dark coloured lounge suit with long-sleeved shirt and tie, or national attire, with dark coloured shoes with socks
  2. Ladies - National attire, formal dress or blouse with long skirt (below knee length) or trousers, with court shoes
  1. Men - National attire or long-sleeved batik or lounge suit
  2. Ladies - Trouser suit, baju kurung or baju kebaya labuh or national attire (below knee length)
Shorts, miniskirts, t-shirts, bermuda shorts, jeans, slippers, sports shoes, sandals and/or any inappropriate attire are not allowed.
Graduands or guests who failed to follow the dress code may be prohibited from entering the venue.

Guidelines for Graduands

Before arriving at the Campus
  • Print and bring along Convocation Ceremony Ticket via MAYA Portal and Guest Tickets along with Guest Cards (for guests);
  • Display Graduand Car Sticker on vehicle before arriving at the campus.
  • Drop-off at Point of Assembly or park vehicle at designated parking area (near HIR Building, Perdanasiswa Complex, Chancellery or as directed by traffic control personnel)
Upon arrival at Point of Assembly 
(refer to Convocation Ceremony Ticket) 
  • Arrive at Point of Assembly (Experimental Theatre or Marquee Tent) by 7.00am (morning session) and 1.30pm (afternoon session);
  • Wear complete Academic Attire. Face mask will be provided by the secretariat, however the use of face masks is optional but highly encouraged in the hall. 
  • Present the printed copy of the Convocation Ceremony Ticket (QR Code), generated from the MAYA Portal to the attendant for registration purposes;
  • Proceed to assigned seat at Dewan Tunku Canselor.
At Dewan Tunku Canselor
  • Separate Graduand Roll Call Slip from the printed Convocation Ceremony Ticket. Do not throw away the Convocation Ceremony Ticket as the QR code will be scanned when returning the Academic Attire;
  • Present Graduand Roll Call Slip to the attendant before going on stage to receive the scroll;
  • The use of face masks is not compulsory while receiving scroll on stage; however graduands are highly encouraged to comply with the health and safety SOPs at all times. 

Guidelines for Guests

1 Number of Guests Only TWO (2) guardians/guests per graduand are allowed to enter the Dewan Tunku Canselor
2 Entry Requirement Guests are required to present valid Guest Ticket(s) along with Guest Card(s) at the entrance of the hall.
3 Guest Restriction
  • Children aged 12 years below and infants, are not allowed to enter the venue. 
  • We also do not encourage high risk groups for COVID-19 including elderly people aged 60 years and above, and those with an underlying health condition to attend. 
4 Other information 
  • Guests can park their vehicles at the designated parking areas (near HIR Building, Perdanasiswa Complex, Chancellery or as directed by traffic control personnel)
  • The use of face masks is not compulsory in hall; however Guests are highly encouraged to comply with the health and safety SOPs at all times.
